At my studio a full set of classic lash extensions is $165 and a hybrid set is $185, with fills at $55 and $65. Here is what that adds up to over a year, and why the cheapest set is rarely the cheapest choice.

What a Full Set and Fills Cost Here

Here are my current prices at Face & Lash Studio by Tami in Port Orange. A full set of classic lash extensions is $165. A hybrid set, which blends classic lashes with handmade volume fans, is $185. Fills are $55 for classic and $65 for hybrid. Every set is applied by me, one lash at a time, so the person who designs your set is the same person who maintains it.

The Number That Matters: Cost Per Year

The full set is only the start. Because your natural lashes shed every day, extensions need a fill every 2 to 3 weeks to stay full. If you come in every 3 weeks, a classic set works out to one full set plus about 16 fills a year, or roughly $1,045. Coming in every 2 weeks instead puts a classic client closer to $1,500 a year. Hybrid clients usually stretch a little longer between fills because the fans hide gaps better, which helps balance the higher fill price. If you are deciding whether lashes fit your budget, the yearly number is the honest one to look at.

    What Lash Extensions Cost Elsewhere

Across the country, full sets commonly run anywhere from about $100 to well over $300, and fills from about $50 to $100. The spread comes from a few things: the city, whether the artist is a solo specialist or one of many stylists on rotation, the products used, and how much time the artist actually spends on your eyes. In Volusia County you will find both ends of that range. A price is only meaningful next to what you are getting for it.

Why the Cheapest Set Can Cost More

A low-priced set often means less time per lash, heavier extensions than your natural lashes can carry, or several lashes glued together. Those shortcuts show up two ways. The set falls out faster, so you pay for fills sooner. And clumped or overweight lashes can stress your natural lashes, which is the one cost you cannot pay your way out of quickly. A set that holds for three weeks at a fair price is usually cheaper over a year than a bargain set that needs attention in ten days.

How to Make Your Lashes Last Longer, and Cost Less

Aftercare is the single biggest factor in how often you need a fill. Keep your lashes dry for the first 24 to 48 hours, clean them daily with a lash-safe foaming cleanser, brush them with a clean spoolie, avoid oil-based products around your eyes, and try not to sleep face-down. Living near the coast plays a part too: salt water, sweat and humid summers are harder on adhesive, which is something I account for when I choose products for my clients here. I go into all of this in my guide to how long lash extensions last.
